XPONENTIAL Europe will be held for the first time at Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre from 18 to 20 February 2025 and will set new standards as the leading forum for uncrewed systems and robotics. Under the motto “Next Level Autonomy”, the event will bring together all the key players in autonomous technologies and showcase the entire value chain – from OEMs to start-ups.
5G campus network: Innovation for the future of autonomy
A special highlight and basis for the high-tech demonstrations: Vodafone, official connectivity partner of XPONENTIAL Europe, will set up a private 5G campus network in Hall 1. This state-of-the-art infrastructure will enable exhibitors to present their technologies under real-life conditions – live, interactive and with minimal latency.
The 5G Campus network provided by Vodafone offers numerous advantages for exhibitors:
- Maximum speed and minimum latency: Perfect for real-time demos, AR/VR applications and IoT technologies.
- Maximum data security: All data remains completely within the trade fair infrastructure.
- Reliable coverage: Up to eight antennas ensure a stable connection in Hall 1.
- Edge computing: data is processed directly on site – quickly and efficiently.
- Dedicated infrastructure: Developed exclusively for XPONENTIAL Europe, the network offers optimum conditions for complex applications.
“Real-time mobile communication reacts as quickly as the human nervous system and is the driving force behind autonomous cars, robots and processes in small and large factory halls. This technology will be brought to life in an impressive way at XPONENTIAL Europe,” explains Michael Bösinger, Head of TETP at Vodafone GmbH.
“We are delighted to be able to celebrate a premiere at our exhibition centre with the use of the 5G Campus network. This infrastructure takes the technological equipment at our events to the next level and the cooperation with Vodafone shows the innovative power a collaboration between two Düsseldorf companies can leverage,” emphasises Wolfram N. Diener, CEO of Messe Düsseldorf.
Visitors to the Vodafone stand will be able to experience first-hand how autonomous systems, IoT and drone technologies are enriching everyday life and industry. With control methods such as VR-supported gesture interaction and high-performance industrial drone solutions, Vodafone will demonstrate the versatile added value that technologies and the real-time network can deliver. Among other things, there will be a helicopter-style industrial drone that can achieve flight times of up to two and a half hours and speeds of up to 100 kilometres per hour, a drone arm that facilitates the take-off and landing of drones in difficult weather conditions and the latest solutions for localising or controlling drones. Visitors can also experience these solutions for themselves in an immersive virtual environment to discover the future of automation first-hand.
Extensive supporting programme with international highlights
In addition to live demonstrations by MIRA, the subsidiary of Rheinmetall, Rheinbahn and Quantum Systems, as well as high-tech from all over Europe, trade visitors can look forward to a varied conference programme that will shed light on the future of international autonomy. The highlights include:
- The European Drone Forum (EDF), organised by UAV DACH, will provide a central platform for the international drone economy from 17 to 18 February.
- The XPONENTIAL Europe Conference of AUVSI (Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International) with its keynote speeches as an inspiring prelude, which brings together visitors and exhibitors from all sectors every day from 9.00 to 10.00 am, i.e. one hour before the start of the trade fair.
- The Standards Forum, which promotes cooperation between the standards organisations in the USA, Europe and its member states as well as the industry worldwide.
- The DRONERESPONDERS Public Safety Forum, which focusses on public safety and disaster prevention.
- The XPO+ Launcher, a stage for start-ups that presents ground-breaking innovations and investment potential.
- The Innovation Theatre, which brings high-tech demonstrations to the stage and brings real-life use cases to life.
